An Intro and the "Arm Swing"

Hey All,

Well this is my first time I have ever kept a blog so we will see if I can maintain it or if I ever post again after this.  Chances are I will

post once or twice after this and then it will fade away, but I am definitely going to try and keep this active because it is so much easier to keep people posted by one blog that they are responsible for checking than to individually call them or send out lots of e-mails and letters.  But well if you are interested in me, as all of you should be seeing as you are friends and family, then check back here and read up on my life.  I am also going to try and post a picture with each post so you can see me too!

So today was my last Lit class which was really nice because I finished my first college level course!  Woot!  I got my final paper back, and I got an A so I am almost 100% I will get an A overall in the class.  It was really easy but I am glad it is over.  Now I only have to get my research paper all finished and get all prepared for my Japanese written and oral exams, doesn't that sounds like fun.  And the research paper really sucks, I already did my presentation on it but now I just have to write the sucker.  My topic is Noh theater in Japan and how one can use it as a window to see the Japanese mindset.  If that perchance does sound interesting to you let me assure you that it is very boring, I like it, but Noh itself is not that interesting.  I am just excited for Monday when I get to get rid of that sucker.

So the swimming pool closes tomorrow, they need to fix the pipes or something so it is getting drained, and I am happy about it, a break will be nice, I am feeling a little checked out from it now because we do not have any big meets and break is so close.  So it was a good thing, but that made today our last practice and we played games!  It was amazing but the best game we played was at the end, we played Gutter Ball.  Which is a very intense, high contact, game.  It is like water polo but with no rules, anything goes, and is played in the shallow end where each team tries to get a ball into the opposite side's gutter.  It was AMAZING!  A great last swim practice.

Okay so I went through the intro and mentioned some stuff now you are probably wondering what the heck is the "arm swing?"  Well this is just a random little thought that I had today when I was leaving my lit class.  I was walking behind two girls in my class and they are both very posh, preppy, very put together girls.  And as they were walking they had their purse/backpack thing over one side but the other arm was in a full swing motion, which all arms do, but their arm swing was very exaggerated model type sort of, do you know what I mean?  Well anyways it was very funny to watch because not only were they doing this but they were doing it in sync with each other, and I couldn't help it but for some reason I found it so hilarious that I started laughing.  Luckily no one heard me.  But then I realized that my arm was swinging too, but I became really self-conscious of it, even though everyone does it, and jammed my hands into my pockets.  But for the rest of the day I watched everyone swing their arms, it was quite fun.  I recommend everyone to try watching it, it is quite funny when you notice it but you will probably become self-conscious of yourself.

Well thats all that is really new with me.  I do have somethings to look forward to though like my birthday, the swim team holiday dinner, and going home for break!  And of course exams too!
